This world-class leadership development program, previously available only to Cornell University MBA students, combines Ivy League studies with an Adirondack adventure. Led by Karel Hilversum, the Dan Tillemans Director of the Cornell Team and Leadership Center (CTLC), along with professional CTLC facilitators and certified expedition guides, you'll spend a week on the Cornell campus exploring leadership theory, followed by five days in the Adirondack region of Northern New York canoeing, camping, and applying your leadership skills.

This high school institute will introduce participants to 2D stop motion animation with painting, collage, and drawing.

This course investigates chemistry as a means to solving real-world problems.

You and your classmates will apply core research methodologies to models, principles, and discoveries within the discipline, and investigate the fundamental neurological structures associated with cognitive processes.

In our 1-Week Online Film Camp for teens, students aged 14-17 receive an exciting introduction to the craft of storytelling through film. Staying true to our hands-on approach, as in all of the New York Film Academy filmmaking camps, students have the opportunity to write, direct, shoot and edit their own short project. ​Production exercises and projects are completed during a weekday evening, including the execution of the shooting plan and post-production​. The pace of this camp is feverish as each student completes a short film to be screened at the conclusion of the camp. No experience is required to attend.

NYFA’s dynamic one-week acting camp gives teens the chance to explore their interest in acting for film. In just a week, students aged 14-17 build basic acting skills through in-class instruction and on-camera exercises. Studying under the supervision of professional actors and directors, students learn how to tap into their natural talent. No experience is required to attend.

In NYFA’s 6-Week Acting Camp, aspiring actors pursue their interest in performing on-camera. Offered in New York and Los Angeles during the summer, this acting for film camp challenges and inspires students aged 14-17 to develop their talent and build their confidence as actors. No experience is required to attend.

The New York Film Academy’s 1-Week Online Acting for Film Camp for teens was designed by our faculty of professional actors to immerse students in the specific craft of acting for film. Through in-class instruction and exercises with your smart devices, students receive ample experience in the principles of acting for film to establish a foundation as actors.

Founded in collaboration with NBC News, NYFA’s Broadcast Journalism School is designed to introduce aspiring digital journalists to the modern era of evidence-based digital journalism. In our 3-Week Broadcast Journalism Camp, held in the media capital of New York City, students aged 14-17 learn how the news expands across television, web, and social platforms. In this intensive program, students produce a newscast and gain real-world skills by creating their own news projects, learning the digital news production process from start-to-finish.

During NYFA’s 4-Week Online Game Design Camp, teens develop their own playable digital game demo with original 3D assets. This intensive virtual camp provides teens aged 14-17 the chance to immerse themselves in their passion for video and tabletop games, learning from active industry professionals. No previous experience is required to attend.

You will be out in the field during this course, developing your skills in nature observation and animal tracking in the context of modern ecology. You will become familiar with the details of the lives of local wildlife including coyotes, deer, foxes, raccoons, opossums, weasels, mice, and bobcats. Topics and skills covered include local natural history, wildlife habitat assessment, clear print track identification, wildlife conservation, and the role of humans in today's ecosystems.

This course will orient you to health, human performance, and wellness at the individual, group, and population levels. We will explore the structures and functions of the human body and the influence of contemporary biopsychosocial factors. You will participate in hands-on learning in a variety of campus-based labs and clinics in addition to learning about the diversity of health, human performance, and wellness professions and the foundations of effective interprofessional healthcare teams.

Stars, Galaxies, and the Universe is an introductory survey of the universe, its formation and evolution, the nature and origins of stars and galaxies, the origins of solar systems including our own, and how humans have come to our current understanding by applying the process of science. You will develop an understanding of basic principles and methods used in astronomy and astrophysics to study the universe through observation, measurement, evaluation of data, and development and testing of scientific theories. This is an introductory course that does not assume a science and mathematics background.

SVA’s Pre-College Program offers courses taught by the same faculty of leading art professionals who teach in the College’s undergraduate degree programs. Students will explore the fundamentals of art and design at a level not readily available in high school.
