Midwest Young Adult Burn Retreat

This overnight camp is provided at no cost for children ages 6 to 17 who have survived burn injuries and smoke inhalation. Campers are accepted from all over Missouri and neighboring states. Campers will arrive at camp on Sunday, July 31st, 2022 and will return home on Sunday, August 7th, 2022. Free transportation to and from camp is provided from St. Louis, Columbia, Springfield, Rolla, and Kansas City. We have also partnered with Angel Flight to offer free airline flights to campers who live outside of our service area. MCBC offers a safe and supportive environment where young burn survivors spend a week with others who have also experienced the trauma of burn injuries. While at camp, campers will participate in a variety of activities including archery, arts & crafts, river activities (kayaking, tubing, floating, paddle boarding), horseback riding, and a high ropes challenge course. Each night there is a special event designed to build community and help the campers let loose and have fun! Attendance at camp is subject to medical approval. As soon as we have received all of the completed camp forms, we will send you detailed transportation information, more details about the camp schedule, and a list of things your child will need to bring with them to camp.
