Introduction to 3D Printing for Metal Casting

very summer, we welcome high school students from all over the country to our beautiful Alfred University campus to participate in exciting academic institutes (and sports camps!), providing participants with opportunities to learn more about specific career fields, to sample life on a college campus and to meet other students with similar interests inside and outside of the classroom. The Creative Writing Institute Virtual Camp provides an introduction to a variety of genres: poetry, short fiction, and creative non-fiction. Students participate in writing intensive exercises designed to address the elements of craft: voice, character, image, scene, and setting. Students will have an opportunity to participate in workshop sessions in which they will read and discuss each other’s work with an eye towards revision. Students will also read and discuss the work of established authors, investigating the strategies they use to craft their poetry and prose. Discussions are lively, and students will have an opportunity to work one-on-one with faculty. All students receive a certificate of completion as well as an anthology of all students’ work from the Creative Writing Institute Virtual Camp. Students who later choose to apply for admission to Alfred University as an undergraduate student will have the admissions application fee waived and will be eligible for an Alfred University VISA scholarship. Dedicated access to a computer with reliable internet connectivity is required.
