During NYFA’s three-week summer camp for acting, aspiring young actors work in an environment that reflects the many demands of a film set. Throughout the camp, students get the opportunity to audition for and act in other students’ films, providing them with a considerable amount of time to practice their on-camera skills. Students also complete an assigned scene as well as a monologue on-camera directed by faculty, recorded by staff, and edited by our in-house editor. At the end of the program, students receive an edited digital copy of their work. For graduates, there will be a final screening for family and invited guests.

Students who have already completed a level-one prerequisite acting camp may return to continue their studies in film acting. During NYFA’s three-week, level two camp, teens aged 14-17 are challenged to build upon the skills learned in the level one program, helping them enhance their on-camera abilities through rigorous exercises and hands-on projects.

The New York Film Academy’s 1-Week Online Acting for Film Camp for teens was designed by our faculty of professional actors to immerse students in the specific craft of acting for film. Through in-class instruction and exercises with your smart devices, students receive ample experience in the principles of acting for film to establish a foundation as actors.

During NYFA’s 3-Week Online Screenwriting Camp, students learn how to write a script and gain an understanding of the technical aspects of writing for television and/or film. Through practical training, students improve their natural writing abilities, working under the mentorship of our experienced faculty of professional screenwriters. The program culminates with a feature film treatment and a short script of 7-10 pages.

In the 3-Week Photography Summer Camp, students are immersed in the art of digital photography. During the program, students aged 14-17 will learn professional techniques from working photographers, gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard tools and techniques necessary to research, compose, capture, and refine compelling photos.

In the 3-Week 3D Animation Camp, teens have the opportunity to write, direct, animate, and edit their own 3D animated short film. Campers get the opportunity to work with the industry-standard Maya software, and also learn to develop their craft through acting, directing, storyboarding, and screenwriting. Students are not expected to enter the 3-Week 3D Animation Camp for Teens with prior animation experience.
