Clay Together invites little hands and their grown-up sidekicks to spin, shape, and create together! Designed for children ages 3 & up and their parent or caregiver, this playful pottery wheel class offers a fun introduction to clay, creativity, and collaboration. No experience needed, just a sense of adventure and a willingness to get a little muddy! Pairs will complete 1 piece to fire. You pick your colors, and Christine Tavares will glaze it for you. Pottery is usually ready for pick-up in 2 weeks but sometimes it takes a little longer. (This is a one-day class). When registering, only one name is needed to secure a spot for you + one. This two-week-long, beginner-friendly workshop introduces high school students to the art of bookmaking. Beginning with the creation of simple zine-style booklets, students will explore the history and cultural impact of zines, especially their role in activism and information-sharing. Once they’ve learned the basics, students will move into more advanced book-making methods, including a range of stitching techniques and how to choose the right one for their project. Participants will also experiment with sustainable making practices such as repurposing discarded paper into handmade sheets and using fabric scraps to create unique cover wraps. By the end of the course, each student will leave with one to two handcrafted blank books of their own design.

We will learn slab building, carving, and glazing techniques with earthenware clay to create a variety of simple to complex tiles, trays, clocks, and masks. Participants are encouraged to come up with their own ideas for projects after learning techniques. This class is geared towards teens and adults.
