Want to learn about the history of art while immersing yourself in New York City's art world or explore what dance is in New York City? Explore the vibrant world of visual and performing arts in this track. Dive into a journey that blends the rich history of art with the dynamic world of dance, where creativity, expression, and historical understanding come alive.

This program examines the interplay of science, medicine, and the experience of health and illness by way of epistemological questions—“How do we know what we know?”—to appreciate not only what becomes defined and recognized as a disease, but the power relationships that produce these effects. This program takes up current and historical examples to interrogate how the benefits of advances in science and medicine remain unequally shared, while exploring critical tools social scientists have offered as possible interventions. Major themes from this session will address biomedicine as a cultural system, the politics of surveillance and care, the performance and rituals of healing, the structure of the US public health system, and others. Students will be engaging with work from a range of scholars, including anthropologists, philosophers, historians, physicians, scientists, and journalists, also with an eye to how these perspectives can inform the health experience of living in New York City.

For a truly immersive college experience, students who will be 16 years of age or older at the program’s start are eligible to reside on our Morningside Campus: a serene academic community where they will always be mere steps away from classrooms, libraries, amenities—and New York City.

In the College Edge program, students in grades 11–12 truly get the college experience by earning college credit as they learn alongside Columbia’s undergrad students on our Morningside campus.

Hey New City parents, give your rising 6th Grader a head start on practicing for the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) that they will take next year! New City 5th & 6th Grade teachers Jill Speckert and Denise Willis will lead this one-week camp to help students prepare for the test through challenges and exercises, as well as taking some time for summer fun with walking day trips and other activities. Do you love reading great books, creating beautiful art, and exploring our amazing woods? Grab your bug spray and sunscreen, and join us for Books and Beauty in Nature! We will begin by sharing a book, and then head out to the woods to collect materials for our daily art project

Do you have millions of story ideas? Is being a writer your dream job? Sign up for this camp to turn your ideas into reality. We will work on developing one story into a 20-40 page book. At the end, your book will be hardcover bound for you to keep.

Volleyball Camp is designed to provide student-athletes a foundation of fundamental skills, knowledge, character, and leadership development, plus a love for the game. Basic skills, lead up games, conditioning, and defensive/offensive strategies will be stressed during ageappropriate drills and team activities. The camp will end with some exciting tournament play and fun for everyone

Top Fun is back! Do you love paper airplanes, but just can’t get your planes to fly right? Come to paper airplane flight school and earn your wings by learning about flight, paper folding, and more. We will experiment with a variety of paper airplanes and learn how to adjust them for maximum flight! So sign up to get your paper airplane pilot’s license and call sign!

This no cost, online course, is taught by Anthony Mampilly at STEM Success. Students will improve academic performance, engaging in STEM activities to enhance students critical thinking, problem-solving, and analyticla skills. Outcomes of STEM contribute to lifelong learning.
