Camp Sabra will be the premier Jewish resident camp in North America building upon our rich traditions which began in 1938. Campers will also get to visit the St. Louis Science Center. The Mini Camp program provides children the opportunity to learn about different sports and activities in an organized, safe, and supervised setting. The program’s goal is to challenge and delight the capacities of the participating children in order to fulfill their unique potential in each of the Mini Camp programs that they choose to attend.

Kids Learn about archaeology and the techniques scientists use to excavate long lost cities! They discover ancient civilizations and the tools and artifacts they used in everyday life! They also study bone fragments, pottery shards, amber deposits, and fossils to understand what they can tell us about history! What’s more, each class includes a make and take-home project, like a fossil reproduction, an amber time capsule, and coins from around the world!

Creative Contraption Warning! This is a camp designed by you--the Inventor! Each day you'll be given a series of challenges which must be overcome using basic materials, simple machines, tips from the world of famous inventors, and the most important thing of all--your mind. With a little bit of ingenuity, you'll construct catapults and forts and then lay siege, construct a mini boat, and assemble a working light saber to take home. While Thomas Edison said invention is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration, this camp is 100% fun!

Flight and Aerodynamics delves into the history of flying machines, abstract physics concepts, and scientific inquiry, while students design rockets and hot air balloons. The hands-on Drone program engages students in aeronautical adventures, teaching flight, navigation, and coding with age-appropriate techniques. Through creative challenges, students develop critical thinking as they pilot their drones, igniting a passion for STEM. Inspired by the hit show, campers will work together to test urban legends, solve scientific mysteries, and separate fact from fiction. From explosive volcanoes to flying objects, each day presents a new challenge that will have kids asking, "Is it possible?"

From the earliest flying machines to the first rocket flights, this week long, hands-on program will give children a bird's eye view of the history and science of flight. Your child will build many different flying devices and explore the science of aerodynamics and flight with the help of Newton's laws. We don't stop there, though, because we're heading out of the atmosphere with a look at rockets and our Galactic neighborhood!
