STEM Camp will provide student learning and enrichment through blending the areas of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. A focus on creativity, collaboration, communication and critical thinking skills will provide students the opportunity to solve real world problems.

Elementary Robotics and Programming Camp will incorporate critical thinking and problem solving through the building, programming and engineering of robots. The program will also focus on team building skills through effective collaboration and communication skills.

Coding 101 is a four-week workshop that teaches kids ages 10-14 basic programming using Scratch software and Google CS First

NASA and Mad Science collaborate to educate the next generation! Children go on a voyage of discovery to space with unique hands-on activities and amazing demonstrations. They explore the sun and stars, space technology, rocket science, the atmosphere, planets and moons, supernovas and more!

During this engaging and hands-on event, girls will have the unique opportunity to step into the fascinating world of automobile design. From learning about the various car parts and their functions to exploring the secrets of aerodynamics and safety features, our young Girl Scouts will discover what it takes to design and build safe, efficient, and stylish automobiles.

Prepare for success! Fifth and sixth grade students will review math and reading skills through interactive games and fun activities. They will learn different strategies to develop and enhance study skills, including organization and time management. Through critical thinking activities, leadership skills will be enhanced to prepare fifth and sixth graders for the school year.

Speech & Debate Camp will focus on taking competitors with at least 1 year of experience to the next level by focusing on specific genres and skills. This summer, speech sessions will focus on Public Address and Oral Interpretation events. Debate sessions will focus on case construction. Campers will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of sessions but are encouraged to specialize in one or two genres this week. An indication (not a commitment) of which genre you are most interested in will be requested upon registration.

This camp is intended for rising 7th and 8th grade students who want to refine their pre-algebra skills. The camp will utilize strategies of explicit instruction with cumulative practice, visual representation, peer-assisted instruction, and ongoing formative assessment to nurture a growth mindset toward maturing math skills. The camp will focus on the following pillars of pre-algebra: -Mastering operations with rational numbers including fractions, decimals, and integers -Understanding and applying proportional relationships including percentages and ratios -Solving simple equations with variables on both sides -Graphing and interpreting linear equations The instruction and structure of this camp is geared for students that have a tendency to struggle in math. The course will be taught by Learning Consultant Kristi Treml.

After “adopting” their very own plush puppy, students will role- play the key responsibilities of a veterinarian, including how to properly perform a nose-to-tail exam. These future veterinarians will learn how to sew stitches, remove ticks, make healthy treats, and vaccinate their dog. Students will role-play the key staff functions performed at a veterinary office and how to keep their “adopted” plush puppy healthy. These future veterinarians will explore digestion, the different parts of the canine eye, animal body language and how X-rays are used to diagnose and treat common illnesses.

Students will role-play the key responsibilities of a veterinarian and perform a whiskers-to-tail exam on their newly “adopted” plush cat. These future veterinarians will learn about animal body language, maintaining a healthy environment such as proper litterbox placement, create a cat toy, and design a vet clinic.
