This exciting and educational Tuskegee Airmen created program teaches students the basics of programming & flying drones. It is designed for kids of all ages interested in technology, engineering & aviation. Students will learn how to program & fly drones, as well as understand the mechanics behind them, while also learning about safety, regulations & ethical considerations. The camp provides a fun & challenging environment for kids to develop skills & knowledge while encouraging teamwork, creativity & problem-solving abilities. With experienced instructors, this camp is the perfect opportunity for children to explore their interests & discover new passions.

After “adopting” their very own plush puppy, students will role- play the key responsibilities of a veterinarian, including how to properly perform a nose-to-tail exam. These future veterinarians will learn how to sew stitches, remove ticks, make healthy treats, and vaccinate their dog. Students will role-play the key staff functions performed at a veterinary office and how to keep their “adopted” plush puppy healthy. These future veterinarians will explore digestion, the different parts of the canine eye, animal body language and how X-rays are used to diagnose and treat common illnesses.

Long after the nuclear apocalypse, your group of wasteland wanderers is searching for a way to purify the radioactive water you depend on. Some clues in an old computer have led you to this ancient, crumbling bomb shelter. Can you solve a scientific mystery and find the water purifier without triggering a meltdown or getting sealed in the vault… forever? Gather a team of 4-6 players and sign up together! (Ages 13 – 18)

StellarXplorers, a STEM program by the Air & Space Forces Association, inspires middle and high school students to pursue careers in space and other critical STEM fields. StellarCamps are engaging, hands-on space system design camps requiring no prior experience. Participants explore satellite coverage, payload determination, and Systems Tool Kit (STK) software through teamwork and problem-solving. Designed for students new to aerospace or looking to expand their knowledge, StellarCamps offer four days of instruction and a final day of friendly competition. Topics include space exploration history, satellite design, rocket types, and orbit planning, reinforced through interactive activities and a mini-competition. The YMCA & Edwardsville Arts Center have partnered for many summers to offer fine art classes. We focus on creating, but also engage in gallery visits, building habits & art discussions.

Student helpers will participate in a training prior to art camp. No video game devices may be used at art camp. No cell phone use is permitted except for parent communication. At the Do Art Productions Comic Book Camp, explore the many different angles and tools of comics and self expression. Each day you will explore a different aspect of comics from paneling, to character, to plot. Learn about the different aspects of inspiration and expression. By the end, we will have created many of our own comics. Our goal is to show gratitude in being ourselves and to explore the creativity that can sprout from expressing this. Everyone will receive stickers, bookmarks, and a variety of other materials to further their comic creations. All art supplies included. No experience necessary.

As a student in the Law Academy, you will follow in the footsteps of these distinguished legal professionals and explore your passion for the law with expert faculty, enthusiastic mentors, and talented peers who share your interests.

In this class, you will get a chance to see your own cells, grow and look at bacteria from your mouth and hands, and see if we can find bacteria on surfaces in the building. Students will learn to use microscopes, learn about microorganisms (bacteria, viruses, and other) and have a chance to use scientific equipment, including growing bacteria on solid media and making your own slides and looking at them under the microscope. (Ages 10-14) *Students must wear fully-enclosed shoes (no sandals or clogs) and pants that cover their whole leg (no crop pants or shorts).

Run by a licensed occupational therapist and doctoral-level graduate student, child's individual learning needs can easily be supported, and activities are designed to stimulate many areas of the brain.
