Training High School Students to Become Educators

Students will be immersed in a week of cooking, baking, and learning about local produce and nutrition.

Rebel Research Scholars offers hands-on, faculty-led research experiences in our labs held during the summer for high school students interested in pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM).

Summer College for High School Students is a four-week comprehensive program for high-achieving high school students who want to experience university life.

The Engineering Summer Academy program will give participants an in-depth exploration into the world of engineering as a major.

College 101 is a week filled with tips, skills trainings, and workshops that will give any college-bound student an advantage in the admissions process.

This week is bound to help you become a better thinker with sharper leadership skills as students use real-world scenarios to explore questions that matter.

Interested in improving your college application portfolio? Thinking about how to represent your personal accomplishments and professional goals in an essay? Wondering what university committee members and administrators look for in effective scholarship application essays? In this week-long summer workshop, you will talk with University of Mississippi faculty, staff, and administrators about personal writing in academic contexts.

Summer Studios is a week-long program that offers teens the opportunity to cultivate technical skills in art and design with emphasis on problem solving, designing, communicating and creating. Students will engage in two studio classes, with choices available in both art and design disciplines, as well as in seminars led by industry professionals and college faculty. This program provides a rigorous art and design school experience, with students engaging in critiques as they work toward an exhibition at the conclusion of the program.

This residential academic experience provides rising 11th and 12th graders students with a taste of college life. As a VSA student, you will live on campus and take accelerated courses with Vanderbilt professors, lecturers, and graduate students. Outside the classroom, our carefully selected residential staff members supervise the dining and residence halls, plan fun and engaging recreational activities, and help ensure that every VSA student has a fulfilling experience.
