In NYFA’s six-week film camp for teens, students aged 14-17 study the art and craft of filmmaking. Through hands-on projects and coursework, students quickly learn how to direct, write, edit, and produce their own short films. This intensive film summer camp offers aspiring visual storytellers the opportunity to learn how to make a short film. Using professional-grade HDSLR cameras, professional lighting, and sound equipment, students create original video content, learning fundamental skills and techniques. Throughout the course, students study and practice a range of topics such as basic screenwriting structure, and how to edit and manage post-production, as well as how to direct actors. The final film that each student creates during the camp also incorporates dialogue using sync-sound. The projects that students create receive feedback and guidance from faculty, as well as their peers.

The 1-Week Photography Summer Camp is a fun exploration of still photography in the modern age. In this hands-on camp, students aged 14-17 learn the tools and techniques to research, compose, capture, and refine exceptional images, and use their knowledge and new skills to capture a series of photographs.

Set on Wharton’s San Francisco campus, Innovation and Startup Culture provides a whirlwind introduction to the world of new venture creation. Throughout the intensive two-week summer program, students will learn the strategies successful entrepreneurs use to generate new ideas and develop them into disruptive high-growth ventures.  

Stanford Pre-Collegiate Summer Institutes is an online summer program where participants engage in single-subject intensive study and benefit from small class sizes and academically motivated peers.

Stanford University Mathematics Camp (SUMaC) welcomes a select group of rising high school juniors and seniors from around the world for intensive study in advanced mathematics. SUMaC leads participants on a journey in advanced mathematics through lectures, guided research, and group problem solving. In an environment centered on mathematics, participants explore current lines of mathematical research, the historical development of important areas of mathematics, and applications across scientific disciplines.

USC Summer Programs extends a tradition of excellence to outstanding high school students through a diverse offering of four-week summer courses. As a “Summer Trojan,” you will balance academic and campus life as you prepare for college — and earn college credit. USC Summer Programs’ courses are taught by USC faculty and experienced professionals of the USC academic community. Our faculty create an engaging academic experience by combining lectures, hands-on workshops and labs, and guest speakers. Each course is designed to be more interactive, engaging and challenging than accelerated high school classes or the broad introductory courses offered by other summer pre-collegiate programs.

Cryptology is the study of the codes and ciphers used to create secret writing. This math course explores many early techniques in cryptology, such as cipher wheels, the Caesar shift, polyalphabetic substitution, and the Vigenère cipher, as well as modern techniques like RSA public key cryptography.

As a class, we’ll learn to read like writers by examining a range of content, styles, structures, and techniques.

This class begins with an investigation of history and definitions of sustainable development and the key actors and institutions in the global arena that have worked to promote it. 

Students in ‘Writing the News’ will learn how to gather information and assemble it to create compelling and engaging narratives in various ways.

The Summer Multicultural Engineering Training (SUMMET) program is an engineering, science, and technology program designed for rising juniors and seniors who are from underrepresented populations, including ethnic/racial minorities, women, and prospective first-generation college students. Only students from Colorado and Oklahoma are eligible to apply to the program.

This course will explore the physics of stars, galaxies, quasars, and cosmology.
