The first few days of the program are spent at HoneyRock where your team will get to know one another and practice basic outdoor technical skills. You will then drive to the Boundary Waters or to the Keweenaw Peninsula. The day begins with a morning devotion and quiet time followed by breakfast. Then, your team will pack up camp and get going for the day! After canoeing to the next campsite (you might see some wildlife along the way!) you’ll set up camp, relax, cook good food, and partake in community worship and discussion. You’ll see the night sky as you’ve never seen it before – maybe even catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights! The final day(s) will be spent back at HoneyRock for reflection and closure. You’ll experience life at HoneyRock and engage with other high school campers.

At the conclusion of the two years in this program, we campers will be ready to launch out of their homes and into whatever the Lord is calling them to step into next. We want this program to serve as the catalyst for them to make the commitment to walking as faithful influences, who are equipped and ready to navigate the complex world today.

Since its inception, UC Berkeley has always attracted changemakers whose vision challenges the status quo and whose contributions make our world a better, more equitable place. Our Pre-College Scholars Berkeley Changemaker™ track draws from, and builds on, elements that make Cal unique, including a singular history for leading inclusively and an agency for making society better. Our curriculum activates our students’ passions and helps them to develop a sharper sense of who they want to be and how to make that happen.
