Make your own hooded sweatshirt or joggers! Using an industrial sewing machine, you'll explore the professional techniques necessary to take your garment from pattern to completion. Start with your favorite cotton fabric, then customize and embellish your piece as time permits. Expand and improve your portfolio whether you are applying to an art and design school or preparing for an exhibition. The instructor will perform an assessment of your current work and then identify with you what pieces you may need to achieve a well-rounded portfolio. You'll spend your time creating projects based on your assessment, including advanced still lifes, figure drawings (might be nude), self-portraits, and abstractions. Spend a week with a designer to experience how a fashion designer works, day to day, in New York City. Learn about the resources designers use to create their collections. Students will create inspiration boards and fashion sketches inspired by the day's discoveries. Explore fabric and trim sources, through lectures, learn the inner workings of a sample room and factory, and learn how a collection is really produced. You will walk away with a journal of resources and a body of knowledge that you can use throughout your fashion career.

Emerson's Esports Institute aims to give an insider perspective of the inner workings of the competitive video gaming industry. This program will not teach you how to play video games but rather introduce you to the industry that exists behind the scenes and the types of career opportunities available. The Institute covers areas rooted in the intersection of technology, media, marketing, branding, management and broadcast fields. Students will create a portfolio of all the information that they will learn including: a marketing plan for an event, a sponsorship proposal, and a video clip of a livestream broadcast that will be presented on the last day. The Esports Institute is a noncredit program.

The Journalism Institute helps rising sophomores, juniors and seniors explore digital journalism techniques in a variety of multimedia formats. Students move beyond the traditional methods of communicating news and explore using Twitter and other social media through their mobile devices to find and interview sources, take and format pictures, and shoot and edit video. These elements get scripted to create packages online and on the air. The program takes advantage of Emerson College's state-of-the-art journalism labs giving students access to the ultimate multimedia learning environment. The Journalism Institute is offered as a noncredit program.

Learn what it takes to be a well-rounded performer on Broadway through Boston Conservatory at Berklee Musical Theater Dance Intensive, a three-week intensive offering talented young dancers the opportunity to deepen their skills and challenge their abilities as they work with Broadway veterans and acclaimed faculty in rigorous training in ballet, jazz, and theater dance. The dance program is complemented with classes in voice and acting to build triple-threat performers. Students will emerge from this three-week intensive with increased technical abilities in ballet, jazz, and theater dance, improved skills in choral ensemble work, and greater confidence in and understanding of acting skills and how they apply to "acting the song."
