Organized by Knowledge@Wharton High School (KWHS), the Global Young Leaders Academy (GYLA) is an intensive two-week summer program for a select group of international high school students who are currently in 9th to 12th grades. The program introduces students to entrepreneurship and other business concepts, and allows them time to become immersed in the U.S. culture. The two-week experience features Wharton faculty presentations, in-depth learning from high school teachers in the KWHS network, residential activities, field trips, community service, and relationship building with other teens. GYLA draws its content from hundreds of engaging KWHS lesson plans and online business journal articles.

The first week of the session will put the student’s leadership abilities to the test. They will be challenged to improve their communication skills, utilize the power of teamwork, and think critically in leadership roles. Individual coaches will help prepare teams for a final presentation they will deliver at the end of the session. Students will embark on a mission of self-discovery during the last two weeks of the session. Each student will learn to identify their strengths and determine how they could help them in their future career. MIE also offers opportunities for students to network at world-renowned businesses, access nationally recognized academic programs, and get hands-on professional experience. Students will leave the session ready to set out on the path towards their career goals.

The M*A*S*H camp was created young adolescents interested in health careers and to build basic skills common to all health careers (CPR, first aid, infection control, etc.). There are four levels of M*A*S*H camp, which will allow students the opportunity to advance their learning during four summers. This exciting weeklong-day camp utilizes the nursing faculty, students and many community members from various health professions to provide fun hands-on learning. Students are exposed to campus life, eating in the college dining hall and utilizing the recreation center.

The BGSU Veterinary Science Camp is here to help students discover what it takes to work in fields related to animal science, medicine and more. This five-day program will allow high school students entering tenth through twelfth grades and recent high school graduates to explore research laboratories, gain insight from professionals in the field and learn more about the vast profession of veterinary medicine.
