Attempt to solve the most pressing challenges of our time, examining current events and applying dynamic strategies for impact – just as governments do every day. In this course, students will focus on how current global issues such as health, race, climate and terrorism require nations to work together and problem-solve beyond a country’s borders. Thinking like governmental leaders, students will learn political frameworks and approaches to problem-solving, applying their knowledge and developing integral skills that can be leveraged toward solving wide-scale positive outcomes. Students in this advanced international relations and politics course will better understand the role of global politics and its impact on the international stage as well as on a more micro level. Throughout the term, students will examine, assess and debate current events that shape our world and worldview as well as communicate these complexities outside of the classroom.
