Sadie Nash Summer Institute - New York City, NY

Sadie Nash Leadership Project (SNLP) promotes leadership and activism among young women and gender-expansive youth. We strengthen, empower, and equip youth as agents for change in their lives and in the world. SNLP is focused on the intellectual and personal development of young women and gender-expansive youth. Our programming also provides networking opportunities, boosts college applications, and provides youth with a safe, enriching, and creative experience to explore their identity and power. We offer a number of programs throughout the year - including our flagship program, Summer Institute. During our Summer Institute, we bring together dynamic young leaders like YOU to share ideas, reflect on experiences, meet amazing role models, and to help transform your community through direct action. During the summer, you and your peers will have the opportunity to build community, critical consciousness, and college and career skills. We provide offer daily classes and workshops rooted in feminism and social justice, mentorship opportunities, conversations with community trailblazers, weekly field trips, and opportunities to explore your own and others’ leadership. Summer Institute requires a commitment of six weeks. Selected participants must attend a mandatory orientation on Tuesday, June 30th. The summer program lasts from July 6th – August 14th, 2020 (Monday through Friday from 10:00AM until 4:30PM; Fridays are field trip days and might end earlier than 4:30). There is a one overnight weekend bonding trip on Saturday, July 11th.
