Honors Symposium is a life-changing journey where students from all across the nation come together for the purpose of growing spiritually and academically. This is accomplished by daily engagement with our finest university professors and mentoring with some of our top university student counselors. Students learn about the world in which we live and how each of us fits into the world as Christians. This goal is achieved through stimulating academic classes and fun activities designed to develop group bonding and sharing. We intend to enrich the spirit and expand the mind of each student participant in Honors Symposium. Three hours of university credit are awarded to all who successfully complete the program. This credit is transferable to the college or university of the participant's choice. The course content is designed to appeal to students of both the humanities and the sciences. Participants have daily engagement with our finest university professors and mentoring with some of our top university student counselors. Students learn about the world in which we live and how each of us fits into the world as Christians. This is achieved through stimulating academic classes and fun activities designed to develop group bonding and sharing. We intend to enrich the spirit and expand the mind. Three hours of university credit are awarded to all who successfully complete a two-week SAI session. This credit is transferable to the college or university of the participant's choice. The course content is designed to appeal to a wide variety of students interests. Application requirements: Junior standing with completion of 12 solid units; Minimum composite score of ACT 21 or SAT 1060 (ERW+M); Minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 (on a 4-point scale); Completed application (see required items below). Application process: online application; Recent photograph of yourself; High School transcript (minimum of 3.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale); Letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor outlining your academic capability, and current leadership roles; Official ACT or SAT test scores submitted by testing agency directly to Harding (minimum requirement is composite ACT 21 or SAT 1060 ERW+M); Immunization record showing receipt of 2 MMR vaccinations (State law requirement); $250 deposit (check or credit card).
