The use of 3D printing and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) is exploding across the engineering and industrial design world. From 3D-printed houses to polished guitars cut out of an old slab of wood, these technologies have revolutionized the way we create. Campers will experience a quick paced, high impact camp that will immerse them in all things 3D and design. Using programs like Autodesk Inventor, Sketchup, and Aspire, students will produce individual designs that will be exported to 3D printers and CNC routers. Let your creativity shine through modern innovations! Students will stay in a residence hall on the FHSU campus with camp staff available day and night to assist campers. Camp staff will provide various evening activities which may include the Sternberg Museum of Natural History, MakerSpace, movie night, game night, etc. Priority application deadline: April 1. Final deadline: May 1. There is a $100 registration fee (for residents of Kansas, $400 fee for non-residents) per camp which includes room and board, camp supplies, and camp t-shirt. Each camp is limited to 30 students, and priority will be on a first come, first serve basis, maximum of two camps per student.
