Join other junior high and senior high school musicians for the annual Central Methodist University Summer Music Camp, July 1-3, 2019. Music camp is for students in grades 7-12 for band and 8-12 for choir. Students will participate in an ensemble and receive private instruction. Clinicians will consist of university professors and outstanding high school music teachers. Students will be housed in Holt and Howard-Payne Halls and will be supervised by CMU music education students and residential life staff. Meals will be served in the Bergsten Dining Hall on campus. Rehearsals and lessons will be held in Classic Hall and the Swinney Conservatory of Music. Campers should plan to check-in on Monday, July 1 between 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. The first camp meeting is at 2:00 p.m. Camp activities on Monday and Tuesday nights will run until 9:30 p.m. A Chamber Recital of small ensembles will take place late morning on Wednesday. Parents are welcome to purchase a meal and eat with their student in the cafeteria for lunch on Wednesday. Camp pictures are at 1 p.m. The Band and Choir Concert is at 1:30 in Puckett Field House. Residential tuition costs $200 and includes: tuition, instruction, insurance, pool fee, t-shirt, and room and board. A scholarship of $30 will be applied to the camp fee for anyone who was selected for an all-district high school band or choir ensemble or all-district jr. high band this school year (2018-2019).
