Predicting the decisions that humans and artificial agents will make requires understanding their incentives. Game theory provides a language for modeling incentives when multiple decision-makers interact. In this course we will learn how to model incentives with utilities and predict decisions by computing an equilibrium. Students will write Python programs that find optimal outcomes in short-term conflicts and implement long-term strategies in repeated interactions. We will apply these tools to study topics like resource conservation, evolution of cooperative behavior, and winning strategies for board games.
