If you are a mature rising high school junior or senior with an interest in science, math or engineering and the ability to work independently and responsibly, you might be interested in the Aggie STEM Honors Program (ASHP), a non-credit enrichment program sponsored by Aggie STEM and the Colleges of Education and Engineering. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively on research projects, crack cryptography codes, undertake advanced coding exercises, explore discrete mathematics topics, and conduct data analyses. You will also tour various STEM labs on the TAMU campus. This camp will require an application and a test to qualify for entrance – the due date has been extended to February 15, 2018.
Application process includes: online application, 2 essays, admissions test, at least 3 letters of recommendation, transcript, standardized test scores. Need based financial aid is available with the completion of an additional scholarship application.
Students will attend a variety of non-credit STEM classes spanning many different areas depending on faculty availability (for example): Construction Engineering, Plant Biology, Veterinarian Science, Coding, Arduino, Formula 1 Design, Circuit Design, Multi-Media Marketing, Chemistry of Cosmetics, Computer Science, Application Design, UAV-Flight Science, ACT/SAT Principles, Physics Show and/or Chemistry Show, Aqua-ponics, and a variety of social activities and local field trips. To be eligible, students must be entering 6th – 11th grade in Fall 2017. All summer camps will be residential camps only. The price of registration includes: STEM classes, materials and supplies, camp shirt, physics and/or chemistry shows, local field trips, rooming, and all meals and snacks.
