Reynolds Young Writers Workshop

At the Reynolds Young Writers Workshop, we meet daily in small morning and afternoon workshops (limited to 12 students per group). In addition, sessions led by visiting writers, individual conferences, and structured writing time further enhance your skills. The Reynolds Young Writers Workshop is open to qualified students who have completed their sophomore or junior year in high school by June of the program year. We do not admit current ninth graders/rising sophomores. The program fee for the workshop, including tuition, housing, and meals for the 8-day program, is $1,300. (On-campus residency is required.) Generous financial assistance, made possible through the Reynolds Endowment, is available based on need. A simple financial aid request form is included in the online application. Applicants are asked to complete a short online application, submit a creative writing sample (up to 10 pages of fiction, poetry, or nonfiction), and arrange for a teacher or guidance counselor complete an online recommendation form. There is a $25 application fee. Full details are provided in the online application form, which opens in early January. All applications are reviewed after the March deadline; acceptance notifications are sent out in early April.
