PREREQUISITES: Geometry AND Algebra I & II with Trigonometry AND Pre-Calculus. Rocket scientist or brain surgeon, architect or engineer, the study of calculus is foundational. This college-level course covers analytic geometry, functions, limits, continuity, derivatives, integrals, and their applications. It explores symbolic differentiation and integration utilities as students apply these skills to solve problems. AP® Calculus AB is a full-year high school course in an accelerated format and prepares students to take the AP® Calculus AB exam. Students enrolling in Equinox must meet the minimum test score requirements as listed in the course descriptions. The preferred documentation is an above-grade-level test score (ACT® or SAT® test taken in grades 7 through 9) taken within 2 years of application. Students who do not have above-level test scores, but do have ACT®, SAT®, PreACT, or PSAT/NMSQT scores from tests taken in the 10th or 11th grade year may also apply as long as the scores meet the stated on-level requirement for the desired course. Students who do not have test scores to submit as part of their application, or whose scores do not meet the minimum requirement may still apply to the Equinox program with an Admission Portfolio application, which includes: copy of test scores if available, teacher recommendation, and transcript. Scholarships and need-based financial aid are available with the completion of an additional financial aid application, due 4/15/18. After 5/14/18, cost of tuition increases.
