High school students with a keen interest in organ are invited to spend a week at the conservatory learning and performing on this expressive and imposing instrument. The Organ Academy is for students considering undergraduate study in organ. Participants will have daily master classes and private lessons with organ professors David Christie and Jonathon Wiliam Moyer. The academy features faculty recitals combined with opportunities for you to perform in student recitals. You'll have access to conservatory practice rooms and some of its noted organs—the French Symphonic organ in Finney Chapel built by Charles Fisk (2001), the North German-Dutch 17th century style organ in Warner Concert Hall built by Flentrop (1974), and the Renaissance meantone organ in Fairchild Chapel built by John Brombaugh (1981)—considered among the finest in North America. To register for the Organ Academy, please complete the online application along with a $55 application fee. In addition, you will be asked to include a short resume of your musical accomplishments and a repertoire list. The academy offers a modest tuition scholarship of $100 for students who qualify. Please indicate on your application if you would like to be considered for the scholarship. For scholarship consideration, we also ask that you include a YouTube link to a video or audio recording of three pieces of your choice.
