Management & Technology Summer Institute

The Management & Technology Summer Institute (M&TSI) is a rigorous and rewarding for-credit summer program for rising high school seniors and a select few rising high school juniors interested in exploring the integration of technological concepts and management principles. Sponsored by the Jerome Fisher Program in Management & Technology, Penn Engineering, and the Wharton School, M&TSI features classes taught by leading faculty and successful entrepreneurs, field trips to companies and R&D facilities, intensive team projects, as well as other activities designed to give students the opportunity to learn about the principles and practice of technological innovation. M&TSI 2018 will run July 8th-July 28th, 2018. Students must be available during the program dates in order to successfully participate in the program. M&TSI students who successfully complete the program will earn one Penn credit unit (equivalent to one college course). Typically, this credit has been used at Penn and other institutions as a technical elective or general elective. If you have questions about how this credit will transfer to a specific college or university, please contact the Registrar’s Office of that institution. The cost of the 2018 program (including tuition, housing, meals, and weekend excursions) is $7000. Scholarships are available for domestic and international students in the form of financial aid. There is an opportunity for partial or full funding based on need. We also offer a scholarship available to students holding a passport from the Arab League. M&TSI selects 50-75 participants to attend the summer program. Selections are based on academic achievement, leadership in extracurricular activities (including school and non-school-based activities such as student government, community service, artistic and cultural, and athletic activities), and performance on standardized test scores (SAT, PSAT, or ACT). Application process includes: online application, $75 application fee, transcript, 2 teacher references, 2 letters of recommendation, standardized test scores, 3 short answer questions, essay.
