An overview of the filmmaking process. Examines pre-production, production and post-production phases. Surveys the wide variety of careers as well as motives for filmmaking and the highly competitive nature of the field. Students will learn what it takes to succeed from a Christ-centered perspective. Designed for high school students ages 14-18 and developed by communication arts faculty and professionals at Anderson University, this unique camp experience focuses on learning the beginning skills leading to a successful career in the film industry. Classes include screenwriting, camera operation, editing, lighting, sound recording and mixing, distribution, and more. Held on the beautiful AU campus, the Filmmakers Camp is taught by instructors whose works have screened theatrically, in film festivals and on television stations and networks around the world. The price per student is $695 all-inclusive (tuition, housing, meals). A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required upon registration. You will want to be sure to register early, as the price increases after July 7 to $775.
