Dordt Discovery Days - Cooking with Karen (PM class)

Even if you've never advanced beyond making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or licking the spoon, this class will show you how to rustle up some grub sure to impress your friends and your mom. Learn how to make healthy snacks, main course dishes, even drinks and desserts. A trip to the grocery store will make ingredient shopping less of a mystery, and if it all pans out, you'll take home a DDD cookbook! Both guys and girls are welcome to learn basic cooking skills that will put you somewhere between Chef Boyardee and Rachel Ray. No repeaters, please. Dordt Discovery Days is a five-day camp for students who have completed 6th, 7th, or 8th grade. Choose one morning and one afternoon class. Classes meet once each day, Monday through Friday. Resident cost: Includes Monday through Thursday nights in campus residence halls under the supervision of Dordt's student services staff. Class sessions, all meals, snacks, t-shirt, and evening group recreational activities are included. Fee: $360 A very limited number of grants will be awarded to students who show financial need. Grants are awarded first come, first served with a standard grant covering half of registration costs. Students can submit applications no earlier than April 1, with a deadline of April 22.
