Building a Better World: Civil Engineering

Design bridges strong enough to hold the weight of traffic. Provide clean drinking water to our homes. Create roadways and infrastructure for transportation. Make sure the waste leaving our homes does not harm us or the environment. Help communities in third world countries. How do civil engineers do it? Discover the answers by making and breaking concrete, creating models, experiencing various civil engineering roles, and visiting structures designed by civil engineers. Note: Students should wear long pants and sturdy, closed-toed shoes or boots. Be prepared to get dirty!
