The Summer Seminary Immersion Program is a two-week academic course designed for high school men who are considering a vocation to the Catholic priesthood. The program will help young men deepen their own consideration of God's call through study of Sacred Scripture, the Catholic Tradition, and the experience of what it would be like to enter a college seminary program. Participants will live in Old College, the undergraduate seminary for the Congregation of Holy Cross. Their course work will focus on developing a deeper understanding of the priesthood. The daily schedule will include Mass, common prayer, and other community experiences. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in social and service activities with the students in the ND Summer Scholars Program. We welcome male high school students who meet the following criteria to apply: - Current sophomores and juniors (will be rising juniors and seniors) - Practicing Roman Catholic - Active participation in their local parish or campus ministry - Strong academic standing with solid extracurricular activities - At least 16 years old by August 1, 2017 Qualified applicants must be self-motivated, self-disciplined, and demonstrate a high level of maturity. In addition, applicants must express a sincere interest in discerning God’s call in their life and a particular interest in learning more about the call to religious life and priesthood. Interested students must submit an online application, a high school transcript, a counselor report, and a letter of recommendation from a priest, religious brother, or religious sister*. Standardized test scores (SAT, ACT, or PSAT) are encouraged but not required. Application fee waivers are granted rarely and only in extreme circumstances. Partial scholarships are available to students who apply for the program. To apply for financial aid, parents or guardians should complete the Request For Need-Based Assistance form. Students requesting financial assistance must submit the form no later than February 20, 2017.
