From July 5 - July 29, build and develop your creative and artistic skills while exploring a specific medium or aspect of art and design. While we understand this online program cannot fully replace the first-hand, on-campus experience, we intend for our online offering to provide students the opportunity to experience a collegiate-level, immersive, and challenging curriculum. Our new online model will focus on one-on-one instructor critique and culminate into potential work for college application portfolios through a combination of synchronous and asynchronous class meetings. "This intensive, four-week, pre-college program is for individuals 15 and older who wish to study at one of the top art and design colleges in the country. Serious young artists seeking to strengthen and enhance their art and design skills, as well as students with limited art training, are invited to participate. Questions? Please email soa@otis.edu, call 310.665.6864, or contact us here. Courses Rigorous course work includes online demonstrations, lectures, and critique in your chosen Specialization Course (three days per week) and/or Drawing Studio Course (two days per week). Classes will meet Monday through Friday, 9:00am - 4:30pm PST through a combination of synchronous and asynchronous class meetings. Two units of college credit for Specialization Courses and one unit of college credit for Drawing Studio Courses are awarded to eligible students upon successful completion of the program. Faculty Summer of Art courses are taught by award-winning instructors who are practicing professionals, many of whom teach in Otis College's undergraduate and graduate programs. Contact with these instructors provides a glimpse into the working lives of professional artists and designers and introduces you to many career choices in art, design, and related fields. See faculty bios for more information about our instructors. Final Exhibition On the last day of the program there will be a virtual final exhibition of student work. You and your instructors will select your best work for the exhibition. The virtual exhibition will give you the experience of being part of a gallery show with your peers, while sharing your artwork with family and friends."
